About me:
I graduated in 1999 from the University of Reading with a BA(Ed) Art & Design, and in 2008 from the U.C.C.A. Canterbury with a BA(Hons) Fine Art. On graduating from Canterbury, I was immediately involved with The Creative Foundation’s Folkestone Triennial, working as guide support for high profile art experts leading the contemporary art tours, and also as workshop facilitator for the local Roma Community. Throughout my work history I have had a diverse experience of working within creative and educational settings and I'm currently supporting students with disabilities at the University for the Creative Arts, alongside working as a Practitioner with the creative agency Future Creative. As a practicing sculptor, I was long-listed for the Jerwood Sculpture Prize 2009, and in 2007 worked as a technician for Antony Gormley installing his first London solo show, Blind Light, at the Hayward Gallery. In 2006 I worked extensively on The Margate Exodus, a community based project and film, commissioned and produced by Artangel for Channel 4 Television, and this developed my keen interest in the importance of participation in the arts, through issue-specific and audience-specific art projects. Due to this interest I am also currently working as the Publicity Coordinator for Alturnertive, a small group of artist's creating opportunities for Kent's emerging artists and art students.
