About me:
I am a live artist working in Manchester. I studied Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University and for the last five years I have been making performances and projects. I am interested in human experience, the mundane and the miraculous. I try to strip information away to the barest truth, to the startling and underwhelming inside of things, often starting with the autobiographical. I am fascinated by the blurring of art and real life, and play as much as I can with that, subsequently my life appears in my work and I also take my work out to non-art spaces and connect with people from all walks of life. This investigation into reality and art also questions the nature of performance; and where the truth ‘lies’ in something that’s made up and performed. I am currently making my first full length solo performance. I am looking forward to being inspired by students as I investigate my own work. I want to create links between performing arts and visual arts students to promote live art practice at Salford University.
