About me and my involvement in AA2A:
A tutor of mine asked me some time ago where I was on the 'Map of Art and Life'. Now perhaps, I would say, somewhere further on than the beginning, and the end is in the distance. In the crease perhaps?
I'm Charlie Snow, and I live in a dream-world. When I wake up, I want to be an artist-oneironaut.
Something to ponder:
Only the ability to speculate allows us to reflect on our dreams. If the reality we experience is only questionable in this higher state of ‘consciousness’, what proof is there then that this too exists?
Every object you are sure you can feel is nothing but a prop; carry this thought into your waking life. The entirety of experience comes into doubt – a theatrical production in the thoughts of something we cannot begin to comprehend.
Progress is floored by the limitations of what we are told is our world. Through nothing more than a series of free associations, we assume knowledge.
If only in the state of lucid thought, are we free enough to achieve greater than rational thinking allows; have you considered the worth of the readings of the psyche? They may well hold the answers to reality.
Will we ever wake up?
Should we ever wake up?
Or should we all just go to the pub and have a good time...?
I'm currently playing AA2A student rep with my good pal Matt Foster, at Northumbria University. My aim is to have said something useful to them before the year is out.
