About me:
Much of my work explores notions of “desire” and examines the commodification of the body but this is refined by a critical line of enquiry rooted in tropes from gender studies and feminist art history. My practice seeks to investigate the supremacy of the gaze by trying to re-locate it onto a phallic symbol, often to humorous effect. In that process, I re-appropriate popular mechanisms and vernaculars frequently deployed in the representation of the female body and hope to call into question the viewer’s own subjectivity.
