I was a full time press photographer from 1998 to 2009. Now based in Herefordshire I combine Press and PR work with long term social documentary and portraiture commissions.
I am using the AA2A programme to explore traditional photographic techniques and work on personal projects based on the themes of trace.

May 2011: 'My Big Fat Ugandan Wedding' chosen for the first Liverpool International Photography Festival 'Look11'. Exhibiting as part of PROJECTion, a daily changing exhibition at the Bluecoat.
May 2011: 'In Residence' opens at the Hereford College of Arts where I have been Artist in Residence. Two new projects are being shown, 'Love' and 'W.Downing Medallists etc'. Both projects can be viewed via my Personal Project page.
February 2011: 'My Big Fat Ugandan Wedding' is chosen to exhibit at Cheltenham's annual open competition and exhibition 'Open West'. Showing at the Pittville Studios, University of Gloucestershire, from February 12th to March 5th
October 2010: ‘My Big Fat Ugandan Wedding’ exhibits as part of ‘Open Here’ at the Hereford Photography Festival.
October 2010: ‘Focus Halo’ opens at Halo Leisure, Hereford as part of the Hereford Photography Festival
October 2010: ‘Focus Here’ reopens at ThePoint4 as part of the Hereford Photography Festival
October 2010: ‘Routes to Revolution’ opens at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery until March 2011
August 2010: ‘Focus Here’ is awarded the ‘Inspire’ mark by London 2012 in recognition as being an outstanding non-commercial project and event inspired by the Games.
July 2010: ‘My Big Fat Ugandan Wedding’ wins first place in the ‘Wedding’ category and second place overall in the annual CRU-WiebeTech photo contest
June 2010: The Hereford Photography Festival commission ‘Focus Here’ opens at ThePoint4 as part of the Cultural Olympiad. The work remains on display for the 2010 Blind World Football championships in August.
March 2010: ‘My Big Fat Ugandan Wedding’ is singled out by The Times from freshfacedandwildeyed10 for review, describing the work as standing out for its "... energy, its focus and its optimism”.
