About me:
I am an artist and qualified teacher living and working in the West Midlands. I studied Fine Art to MA level and also completed an MA in Art and Design Histories. Although I am primarily a painter much of this work focussed on the history and ontology of digital media and the integration of computers into the fine art arena.
I am a studio holder at Bridge Studio in Aston and have exhibited locally and nationally throughout the course of my career. As a painter I am interested in the physicality of materials and the manipulation of the painted surface. Past work has referenced my interest in digital media, focussing on concepts of repetition and reproduction however I am currently engaged in a body of work looking at the destruction of the Grand Pier in Weston Super Mare, by fire, in July 2008. It is this theme and my subsequent interest in dissolving and fragmented structures that I will be developing in the print department at the University of Wolverhampton.
