About me and my involvement in AA2A:
After graduating in 2002 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Sculpture from Kingston University, I completed a PGCE and have been teaching a range of Art and Design processes in FE colleges in London and Manchester for over seven years. Currently studying an MA in 3D Design at Manchester Metropolitan University, my recent practice aims to encourage interactions with the urban environment to engage participants with issues of public ownership within modern city spaces. Installations have involved the use of multiple projections onto laser-etched objects and have most recently included analogue light sensors, used to control the projections. Installation work runs alongside the online project This Belongs To, in which participants use laser-cut card to cast shadows in the environment and temporarily claim spaces. I work under the name Glittermouse and more details including documentary images and video can be found online at glittermouse.co.uk.
Recent Events and Exhibitions include:
* Alternative Party Art and Technology Exhibition (interactive installation) - Helsinki, October 2010
* Blacked Out (two interactive projections in a group show) - London, August 2010
* Marking the Territory (solo installation) - Manchester, April 2010
* Norvun Sunday (live installation at club night) - Manchester, May 2010
As a Student Rep for AA2A I am looking forward to exploring the networking possibilites offered by the site as well as working alongside other practitioners and having the opportunity to present my work to a wider audience.
