Hi, this was printed from a collagraph plate. The plate was made from backing board (from a frame suppliers) with a range of thinner card and acrylic medium applied to the surface. I then scored lines into the plate with a biro, really just using whatever was to hand in the studio. The intention was to test out how each surface would print. The plate was coated with yacht varnish. The print at the back is inked with black etching ink (oil based) and the one at the front was printed in three layers, yellow, grey then black. Between each layer the plate was cleaned and re-inked. Unfortunately with this process the inking takes quite a while so the paper begins to dry out befor the final layer. It would be better to have separate plates, pre-inked ready to put through one on top of another to avoid this problem.
